Victoria licensing context

Victoria regulates different sectors through different bodies. The Victorian Building Authority is central for many trade pathways, security settings sit with Licensing and Regulation Division and Victoria Police, real estate is overseen by the Business Licensing Authority, and Working with Children Check rules apply in relevant roles. Where a licence depends on a recognised qualification, RPL can help experienced workers meet that qualification requirement before they apply to the regulator. RPL It does not issue licences or assess competence. The delivering RTO handles the formal assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions About RPL in Victoria

Can I do RPL from Victoria without visiting a campus?
Yes. The entire RPL process is remote-first. You don't need to visit a campus in Victoria or anywhere else. Evidence is submitted digitally, and assessment is conducted by the delivering RTO based on your portfolio. Some trade licences may require a practical demonstration, but this can usually be arranged at a workplace near you.
Are qualifications the same across all states?
The qualifications themselves are nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework and are identical regardless of your location. However, trade licensing requirements vary by state — Victoria falls under Victoria's licensing authority, and additional requirements may apply beyond the qualification itself.
How long does the RPL process take?
Most candidates who submit a complete evidence portfolio receive their qualification within 4–6 weeks from RTO assessment. The timeline depends on your evidence readiness — if you have strong documentation, the process can move quickly. If there are evidence gaps requiring gap training, it may take longer.

Why RPL It Australia

Victoria has 809 qualifications across 998 RTO delivery locations, including 90 qualifications currently available. We guide what you\'ve already achieved into formal recognition, keep the evidence standard visible, and give direct advice when the case is not ready. If you\'re not found eligible, your service fee is refunded. In a state with strict licensing expectations, careful preparation is more useful than broad promises.
