What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in senior building management. Registering your interest ensures you are the first to be notified once the pathway is open for assessment.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to gauge demand and accelerate the onboarding of suitable RTO partners. It also ensures you receive early guidance on the types of evidence typically required for a management-level qualification.
Is an RPL qualification viewed differently than one earned through study?
No. A qualification issued through Recognition of Prior Learning is the same nationally recognised certificate as one earned through classroom study. It confirms you have met the same rigorous national standards through your professional experience.
What kind of management experience is required?
Assessors typically look for experience in managing budgets, project risks, legal obligations, and site personnel within a medium-rise construction context. Your evidence should demonstrate your ability to oversee complex projects from a senior level.
How does the evidence process work for managers?
As a manager, your evidence often consists of the documentation you produce daily, such as project plans, financial reports, and contract variations. We help you organise these documents to show how they align with the qualification's units.
