About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who provide design support for professional engineers. They perform tasks involving a broad range of work activities, most of which are specialised and within known or changing contexts and could include civil works drafting.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is RPL the same as completing a civil design course?
RPL is an assessment-only pathway that recognises the skills you have already developed through your work in the industry. It requires the same standard of competency as a traditional course, but instead of learning new material, you are demonstrating your existing expertise to a qualified assessor.
What kind of design software experience is required for evidence?
Assessors typically look for evidence that you can use industry-standard software to produce accurate civil designs. This might include CAD or BIM files you have created for projects involving roads, drainage, or civil structures.
Can my experience in road design count towards this qualification?
