About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the roles of flight crew personnel performing normal and emergency commercial pilot duties in support of commercial or Defence aviation flight operations. Flight crew duties include applying technical and non-technical aviation skills and knowledge to a wide range of air transport operations, including passenger, charter and cargo operations.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Why should I register my interest?
Registering ensures you receive priority notification once an RTO partner is secured. It also allows us to provide early guidance on the types of evidence you should begin gathering from your flight history.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and meets the same Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) standards.
How does this Diploma relate to my CASA Commercial Pilot Licence?
The Diploma of Aviation (AVI50222) provides the educational framework and units of competency required for a CPL. However, CASA retains the authority for issuing the actual flight crew licence based on their Part 61 regulations, including flight tests and medical requirements.
Can military flight experience be used for RPL?
Absolutely. Military flight crew experience is a valid form of evidence. We can guide you in presenting your Defence aviation records and training history in a format that aligns with the civilian units of competency required for this Diploma.
