About This Qualification
Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy, judgement and defined responsibility in contexts that are subject to change, and within broad parameters to provide specialist advice and functions. This qualification forms some of the requirements for certification as an Air Transport Pilot and Pilot in Command by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) as directed by Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) Part 61 Flight crew licensing.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available through RPL it?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) who can deliver this specific qualification. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when the pathway is open for enrolment.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering ensures you receive priority notification once an RTO partner is secured. It also helps us understand the demand for aviation recognition, allowing us to better guide the development of the evidence portfolio process.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is nationally recognised and meets the same Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) standards.
Does this qualification automatically grant me a CASA ATPL?
No. While this Advanced Diploma aligns with the knowledge requirements of CASR Part 61, you must still satisfy CASA’s independent requirements, including flight hours and flight tests, to be issued a licence.
Can military pilots use this for civilian recognition?
Absolutely. This qualification is a primary pathway for Defence pilots to translate their military command experience into a civilian credential recognised by the aviation industry.
What if my flight logs contain confidential data?
Our consultants are experienced in handling sensitive information. We can guide you on how to de-identify sensitive data or provide alternative evidence that demonstrates your competency without compromising security protocols.
