About This Qualification
This qualification is relevant to individuals operating remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and national operating standards. Remote pilots operating at this level will apply advanced technical and non-technical knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and will take limited responsibility in known and stable operational contexts within established regulatory parameters.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through recognition of prior learning is identical to one earned through study. It is nationally recognised and meets the same rigorous standards required by the aviation industry.
Do I need the Certificate III in Aviation first?
Yes, the AVI30419 Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) or an equivalent competency is a mandatory entry requirement. This ensures you have the foundational skills necessary for advanced BVLOS operations.
How does this relate to my CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL)?
This qualification provides formal academic recognition of your advanced technical skills. While it aligns with CASR Part 101 standards, your operational RePL and specific BVLOS ratings are issued separately by CASA.
What kind of evidence is required for multi-crew operations?
