Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

Is the Diploma of Audiometry currently available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of identifying and partnering with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that meet our standards for this specific qualification. While not yet open for enrolment, registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway is established.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering your interest allows us to gauge the demand for this qualification within the health sector. It also ensures that once an RTO partnership is confirmed, you will receive priority notification to begin your free skills review.
Is RPL the same as studying for the Diploma?
No. While traditional study focuses on learning new content, RPL is a process of recognition. It treats your existing years of clinical practice as evidence of your competency, allowing a qualified assessor to verify what you already know.
What kind of experience is needed for this qualification?
Assessors typically look for significant experience in conducting audiometric testing, developing rehabilitation programs, and the technical prescription and fitting of hearing devices in a clinical or medical setting.
Will I need to perform a practical demonstration?
As this is a clinical health qualification, the delivering RTO's assessor may require a practical observation or a professional conversation to verify that your skills meet the national standards for audiometry.
