Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

Is RPL currently available for the Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to offer this specific qualification. While not yet active, we are building the framework to ensure your clinical experience can be properly assessed.
Registering ensures you are the first to know when a partner RTO is ready to accept RPL applications for this qualification. It also helps us understand the demand for Ayurvedic recognition, allowing us to prioritise these partnerships.
Is RPL the same as studying the course?
The qualification issued is identical. The difference lies in the evidence: rather than learning new content, you are demonstrating to an assessor that you already possess the competencies required by the national standard through your existing work history.
How do the 400 hours of work placement affect RPL?
For RPL candidates, the 400-hour requirement is typically met by documenting your existing professional practice. Your consultant will guide you on how to present your clinical logs and case history to satisfy the assessor's requirements.
What if I have been self-employed?
Self-employment is a valid form of experience. Evidence can include business registration, client testimonials, clinical records, and tax documentation that verifies your duration and scope of practice in Ayurvedic medicine.
