About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as supervisors or team leaders, working in underground metalliferous mines, who perform tasks involving a broad range of varied activities, most of which are complex and non-routine. They are responsible for the quantity and quality of the output of others, contribute to the development of technical solutions to non-routine problems and apply mine management plans to the workplace.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is RPL the same as studying for the Certificate IV?
No. While the qualification you receive is identical, RPL focuses on assessing the skills you have already acquired through years of work. It is a process of documenting your existing competency rather than learning new material.
Does this qualification apply to underground coal mining?
No, the RII40320 is specifically designed for metalliferous mining operations. Underground coal mining falls under a different set of statutory requirements and qualifications.
What happens if I have experience but lack specific documentation?
Our role is to guide you. If an assessor identifies gaps in your evidence, the RTO can provide targeted gap training. This allows you to complete only the units you need, respecting the expertise you already possess.
