This qualification reflects the role of entry-level population health worker. At this level, work takes place under the direction of others and supervision may be direct or indirect.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations for this specific qualification. While not immediately available, registering your interest ensures you are notified the moment the pathway opens.

Is recognition of prior learning the same as studying?
Recognition is not about learning new things; it is about proving what you already know. While a student learns through a curriculum, you demonstrate your competency through a portfolio of evidence based on your years of practical experience.
What kind of health experience is most relevant for HLT36015?
Experience in community outreach, disease surveillance, Indigenous health programs, or needle and syringe programs is highly relevant. If you have worked under supervision to support public health initiatives, your experience may be well-aligned.
Will I need to attend a campus for assessment?
The RPL process is designed to be completed remotely. You will work with a consultant to gather and submit your evidence electronically, though the RTO's assessor may request a conversation or a workplace observation if required.
