This qualification reflects the role of workers who perform a range of operations to directly produce manufactured mineral products for industry, including cement, precast concrete, pre-mixed concrete, quarry and asphalt.The worker will be able to work independently and to apply theoretical and technical knowledge and well-developed skills to undertake operations and exercise judgement in areas such as start-up and shutdown procedures and quality assurance.The worker will be able to apply product and process knowledge to anticipate and solve a range of routine and non-routine problems. This includes developing solutions to new problems which do not have a known or recorded solution in procedures.
