Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

When will RPL for the Certificate IV in Recreational Vehicles be available?
We are currently in the process of vetting RTO partners to ensure they meet our standards for the MSM41122 qualification. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when the pathway is open for assessment.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering helps us understand the demand for this specific qualification. It also ensures you receive a preliminary review of your experience so you are ready to begin the evidence collection process as soon as a partner RTO is secured.
Is RPL the same as studying for this qualification?
No. While study involves learning new material, RPL is a process of assessment. It allows a qualified assessor to review the evidence of skills you have already developed through years of work in the RV industry.
Do I need to hold a Certificate III before applying for this level?
While there are no formal entry requirements, this qualification is designed for those at a post-trade level. Having a Certificate III or significant trade experience in RV manufacturing or repair provides a strong foundation for the evidence required.
What happens if I have gaps in my evidence?
If the RTO's assessor identifies areas where your experience doesn't fully meet the national standard, they will provide targeted gap training. This allows you to build on your existing foundation rather than repeating what you already know.
