About This Qualification
This is a qualification for those engaged in driving operation job roles within the transport and logistics industry. It involves a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, with some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures and within known time constraints.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to offer this qualification. While not immediately available, registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway opens.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to keep you informed of our progress. It also helps us demonstrate demand to our RTO partners, potentially accelerating the availability of a recognition pathway for experienced drivers.
Is RPL the same as completing a driving course?
No. Traditional study teaches you new skills, whereas Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process of assessing the skills you already possess. It focuses on evidence of your existing competence rather than repetitive training.
What kind of driving experience is considered relevant?
Experience across various sectors counts, including road freight, linehaul, passenger transport, or specialist vehicle operations like agitators or waste management vehicles.
Will I need to provide my heavy vehicle license?
Yes, your current driver's license is a primary piece of evidence. The specific class of license you hold will often align with the specific units and electives within the qualification that can be recognised.
