About This Qualification

This is a qualification for those engaged in a variety of materiel logistics roles, performed at any stage of the capability life cycle. Materiel logistics is the through life management of materiel to achieve the stated requirements of defence capability managers. It is a multi-disciplinary approach to the planning and management of materiel's logistics elements. It combines the life cycle disciplines of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Supportability Analysis to provide a comprehensive approach to the development of sustainable and supportable mission systems and their support systems. Successful achievement of this qualification requires a person to perform a broad range of logistics skilled applications including requirements to evaluate and analyse current practices, develop new criteria and procedures for performing current practices, and to provide some leadership and guidance to others. This qualification is targeted at logistics practitioners with at least twelve months’ experience in disciplines such as inventory management, data management, maintenance system management and integrated logistics support (acquisition and sustainment).
