About This Qualification
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge to work in the electricity supply industry (ESI) as a Transmission Line Construction Worker. This qualification covers assembling transmission structures and installing hardware.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available through RPL it?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for this specific qualification. While not immediately available for enrolment, registering your interest ensures you are notified as soon as the pathway is active.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering your interest helps us demonstrate the demand for this qualification to our RTO partners. It also ensures you receive priority updates on evidence requirements and availability for the transmission sector.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification earned through Recognition of Prior Learning is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and carries the same national weight as one earned through traditional study. It simply recognises that you have already mastered the competencies on the job.
Does this qualification cover High Risk Work licences?
The core units of this qualification include the requirements for Dogging and Basic Rigging. While the RTO assesses your competency in these areas, you will still need to apply to your state's work health and safety regulator to be issued the physical HRW licence.
What if I have experience but don't have all the paperwork?
Our role as your guide is to help you identify alternative forms of evidence. Photos of your work, statutory declarations, and technical interviews with an assessor can often bridge the gap where formal documentation may be missing.
How does the electrical safety component work for non-electrical workers?
This qualification includes specific training on working safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus. For RPL, we look for evidence that you understand safe approach distances and the specific safety protocols required when working near energised transmission lines.
