About This Qualification
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge to work in the electricity supply industry (ESI) or the vegetation control industry as a Powerline Vegetation Control Worker. This qualification covers vegetation control work at and above ground level in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that hold this qualification on their scope. At this stage, we are accepting registrations of interest so we can notify you the moment the RPL pathway becomes active.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is nationally recognised and meets the same Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) standards, as it is based on the same competency requirements.
Do I need a specific licence to work near powerlines?
Yes, in most jurisdictions, you must hold specific industry authorisations and often a High Risk Work Licence for Elevating Work Platforms (EWP) if working at height. This qualification is a key step in demonstrating the competency required for those licences.
What if my chainsaw tickets have expired?
Expired certifications still serve as valuable evidence of your prior learning. As your guide, we help you present these along with current work samples and references to demonstrate that your skills remain current and meet the national standard.
