About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in kitchens who use a defined and limited range of food preparation and cookery skills to prepare food and menu items. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for the Certificate II in Cookery. While not yet available for immediate enrolment, we are gathering interest to prioritise this qualification in our next phase of service expansion.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and holds the same national weight under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Does this qualification make me a trade-qualified Chef?
No, the Certificate II in Cookery is an entry-level qualification focused on routine kitchen tasks and basic cookery methods. It provides a strong foundation and a pathway toward the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, which is the standard for trade recognition.
Can I use experience from aged care or school kitchens?
