What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available through RPL it?
Not at this moment. We are in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in automotive administration to ensure the pathway meets our standards for guidance and rigour.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering your interest ensures you are the first to be notified when a suitable RTO partner is secured. It also allows us to understand the demand for this qualification, which can expedite the partnership process.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. Both are issued by a Registered Training Organisation and meet the same Australian national standards.
What specific automotive tasks are covered in this assessment?
The assessment focuses on administrative functions within a workshop or dealership environment, including service reception, automotive-specific communication, and the use of industry information systems.
Does this qualification require mechanical knowledge?
