What level of engine experience is required?
Assessors will look for evidence that you can dismantle, evaluate, and recondition engine blocks and cylinder heads, as well as diagnose complex compression ignition systems.
Do I need to demonstrate electrical skills for a diesel qualification?
Yes, basic electrical competency is a core requirement. You will need to show you can test and repair basic circuits, batteries, and jump-start vehicles safely.
Will I need to provide my own tools for the assessment?
The RPL process focuses on evidence of your past work. If a practical demonstration is required by the RTO's assessor, it is typically conducted in your current workplace using the tools you use daily.
