What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that can offer this specific Graduate Certificate. At this stage, we are inviting practitioners to register their interest.
Why should I register my interest today?
Registering your interest ensures you are the first to be notified once a suitable RTO partner is secured. It also helps us understand the demand for this specific qualification, allowing us to advocate for a more efficient recognition process for experienced practitioners.
Is RPL for a Graduate Certificate the same as studying it?
The outcome is identical. The RPL process applies the same national assessment standards as a traditional course. The difference is that RPL assesses your existing evidence of competency rather than requiring you to repeat learning you have already mastered on the job.
What level of experience is required for this Graduate Certificate?
This level of recognition is designed for those making complex, independent judgements and taking full responsibility for their work. Typically, this involves significant experience in self-directed roles with substantial depth of knowledge in career development or counselling.
How do I protect client privacy when providing evidence?
When documenting your career sessions, all evidence must be anonymised. Your consultant will guide you on how to redact sensitive information while still demonstrating your ability to conduct professional career development sessions.
