Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

When will the Cert IV in Employment Services be available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in community services. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when we are ready to accept applications for this qualification.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering ensures you receive priority notification once the pathway is active. It also allows our consultants to begin an informal review of your experience so you are prepared for the evidence-gathering stage as soon as we launch.
Is RPL the same as studying the course?
No. While the qualification issued is identical, RPL is an assessment process that recognises the skills you have already developed on the job. It respects your prior investment of time in the industry rather than requiring you to repeat learning in a classroom.
What kind of experience is most relevant for CHC41115?
Experience in Disability Employment Services (DES), Workforce Australia providers, or private recruitment agencies is highly relevant. If you have managed a caseload, developed employment plans, and engaged with local employers, your experience is well-aligned.
Will I need to complete any training?
If the RTO's assessor identifies specific areas where your evidence does not fully meet the national standard, gap training may be required. This is targeted learning designed to build on your existing foundation rather than starting from scratch.
