Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

Is the Diploma of TCM Remedial Massage currently available via RPL?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for this specific qualification. While not immediately available for enrolment, we are actively seeking pathways for experienced TCM practitioners.
Why should I register my interest now?
By registering your interest, you ensure you are the first to be notified once a suitable RTO partner is secured. It also helps us demonstrate the demand for this qualification to our partners, potentially accelerating the availability of the RPL pathway.
Is RPL the same as studying for the Diploma?
No. Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment-only pathway that acknowledges the expertise you have already acquired. It is a process of presenting evidence of your existing competency rather than learning new skills from scratch.
How do the 200 required work hours affect my RPL application?
To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate at least 200 hours of clinical work. Through RPL, your existing work history and clinical logs are assessed to ensure your experience meets these specific assessment requirements.
What happens if my evidence doesn't cover all the units?
If the RTO's assessor identifies areas where your evidence is insufficient, you may be offered gap training. This is targeted learning designed to build on your existing foundation rather than requiring you to repeat what you already know.
Will my experience with Tui Na be recognised?
Yes, Tui Na is a core component of the TCM remedial massage framework. Your experience in applying these techniques, along with heat and moisture therapies, forms a critical part of the evidence portfolio for this qualification.
