Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

When will RPL for this Diploma be available?
We are currently in the process of identifying and vetting RTO partners who meet our standards for this specific qualification. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when the pathway is open for enrolment.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to gauge the demand for this qualification and prioritise it in our partnership development. It also ensures you receive early access to a free skills review once the pathway is active.
Is RPL the same as a traditional management course?
RPL is a formal assessment of the skills you already possess. It applies the same national standards as a traditional course, but instead of learning new material, you are providing evidence that you already meet the competency requirements.
What kind of experience is suitable for this Diploma?
This qualification is designed for those in technical or operations management roles within sport, aquatic, or recreation organisations. If you have significant autonomy and manage teams or budgets, you are likely well-positioned.

If an assessor identifies areas where your evidence is insufficient, gap training is typically provided. This is often completed through targeted online modules or project-based work that builds on your current workplace activities.
How long does the evidence collection usually take?
The timeframe depends on how easily you can access your past work documents. Your dedicated consultant will provide a clear checklist to make this process as efficient as possible, respecting your time and existing commitments.
