About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who undertake retail merchandise management activity to deliver profitable results for a retail organisation. They analyse merchandise performance results and follow an organisational strategy to plan and enhance ongoing merchandise performance.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of identifying and partnering with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that can provide assessment for this specific qualification. At this stage, we are accepting registrations of interest.

Is the RPL process the same as completing a course?
No. While both result in the same nationally recognised qualification, RPL focuses on assessing the skills you have already acquired through your work history. Traditional study is designed to teach you new skills from the ground up.
What kind of experience is required for this qualification?
Candidates typically need significant experience in retail management functions, specifically involving financial planning, merchandise strategy, and inventory management. The entry requirements suggest at least two years of full-time experience in these areas.
How do I know if my experience is sufficient for RPL?
Once the pathway is active, we provide a free skills review. We will look at your work history and current responsibilities to determine if your experience aligns with the competency standards required for this Diploma.
What happens if there are gaps in my evidence?
If the RTO's assessor identifies areas where your evidence does not fully meet the standard, gap training can be provided. This targeted learning focuses only on the specific areas needed to achieve the full qualification.
