About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of construction waterproofing design and survey specialists who apply knowledge of construction methods, compliance requirements and materials to implement waterproofing services for professional and statutory requirements. The scope of work undertaken varies across jurisdictions and can include: conducting waterproofing inspections:at point of constructionon existing building to identify issues and remediation requirementsdesigning waterproofing for new constructiondesigning remedial waterproofing solutions for existing buildings. Waterproofing specialists require an understanding of relevant compliance requirements as well as of traditional, new and emerging construction methods and materials. They make a significant contribution to the development and construction of the built environment, often working in collaboration with other specialist consultants to assess and verify that proposed and actual building works are compliant and to ensure the safety of building occupants in support of principal designer and principal certifier. Legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to waterproofing as a regulated design in some states and territories. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.
