This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for personnel working in community group coordination and facilitation, which focuses on fostering, promoting and supporting community development, particularly in rural communities that are engaged in natural resource management activities. What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for the AHC51222 qualification. While not immediately available for enrolment, registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway is active.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one earned through full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and carries the same national weight as one earned through traditional study. It recognises that the method of learning; on the job rather than in a classroom; is equally valid.
What if my facilitation experience is primarily with volunteer groups?
Lived experience in volunteer leadership is highly relevant for this qualification, particularly in the Landcare and rural development sectors. If you have exercised autonomy and managed complex projects in a volunteer capacity, those skills can serve as evidence.
Do I need to show evidence of financial management?
Yes, as preparing and monitoring budgets is a core unit of this Diploma. Evidence could include managing project funds, overseeing grant allocations, or creating financial reports for a community board or regional body.
