About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of clinical aromatherapists, who provide therapeutic treatments to address a range of health issues. Practitioners may be self-employed or may work within a larger health service.To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is RPL the same as completing a study course?
No. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment of the skills and knowledge you have already acquired through your work. It focuses on evidence of your existing competence rather than teaching you new material.
How do I prove I have completed the required 120 clinical hours?
The assessor will look for verified logs, workplace testimonials, or clinical records that demonstrate you have performed the required hours of therapeutic work in a suitable health environment.
What happens if I have gaps in my clinical evidence?
If the RTO's assessor identifies areas where your evidence is insufficient, they will provide targeted gap training. This allows you to build on your existing foundation without needing to repeat what you already know.
Can I use my own business records as evidence?
Yes, provided they are anonymised to protect client privacy. Business records like treatment protocols, sourcing logs, and professional correspondence can be very effective evidence of your clinical competence.
