About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as drillers or operators working in a well servicing context. They perform tasks involving a broad range of varied activities most of which are complex and non-routine.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in resources and infrastructure. By registering your interest, you will be the first to know when a formal assessment pathway is available.

Registering allows us to understand the demand for this qualification and helps us prioritise which RTO partnerships to finalise first. It also ensures you receive direct updates on evidence requirements and assessment availability.
Is RPL the same as completing the full training course?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates your existing skills against national standards. It is not a shortcut; it is a different pathway that respects the expertise you have already gained on the rig.
What level of experience is expected for this Certificate IV?
This qualification is designed for those in senior roles, such as Drillers or Derrickmen, who are responsible for supervising others and managing complex, non-routine well servicing tasks.
How do I demonstrate my competency in emergency response?
Evidence can include documented participation in emergency drills, logs from actual critical situations you have managed, and records showing your ability to maintain safe working practices under pressure.
Will I need to complete any additional study?
If the RTO's assessor identifies areas where your evidence does not fully meet the qualification requirements, they may provide targeted gap training. This builds on your existing knowledge rather than requiring you to start from scratch.
