What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?

Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.

You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

When will RPL for this qualification be available?+
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in property services. We recommend registering your interest to receive an immediate notification once the pathway is open.
Why should I register my interest now?+
Registering ensures you are among the first to be contacted when we secure a partner RTO. It also allows us to keep you informed about any changes to the CPP Training Package or specific evidence requirements.
Is RPL the same as completing a strata management course?+
No. While a course teaches you new skills, RPL is a process of assessment. It allows a qualified assessor to review the evidence of what you have already achieved in the industry to determine if you meet the national standards.
What kind of experience is most relevant for this Cert IV?+
Relevant experience includes managing strata funds, facilitating committee meetings, interpreting strata plans, and coordinating the maintenance of common property within a strata or body corporate environment.
Will I need to provide copies of minutes from meetings I've managed?+
Yes, meeting minutes and agendas are excellent forms of evidence to demonstrate your competency in facilitating strata community meetings and committee operations, provided any private information is appropriately redacted.
What happens if the assessor identifies a gap in my evidence?+
If the RTO's assessor determines that your evidence doesn't fully cover a specific unit, they will identify the gap. You will then have the opportunity to complete targeted gap training to meet the requirement at no additional cost.
What does registering my interest mean?+
Registering your interest means you'd like to be notified when this qualification becomes available through RPL. There's no commitment. We'll contact you when an RTO partnership is confirmed for this qualification.
Why isn't this qualification available yet?+
RPL It works with partner RTOs to deliver qualifications. We're currently exploring RTO partnerships for this qualification. Registering your interest helps us prioritise which qualifications to focus on next.
What happens after I register my interest?+
You'll receive a confirmation, and we'll keep your details on file. When a partner RTO is confirmed for this qualification, we'll contact you with the next steps, including how to start your free skills review.
Can I still do a free skills review for this qualification?+
Yes. A free skills review helps you understand whether your experience aligns with the qualification requirements, regardless of whether an RTO partner is currently available. It's a useful first step while you wait.
