Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

Is the Diploma of Access Consulting currently available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of identifying and establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in this qualification. While it is not yet available for immediate enrolment, we are actively working to build a compliant and rigorous recognition pathway.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering your interest allows us to notify you the moment an RTO partner is secured. It also helps us gauge the demand for this specific qualification, which can accelerate the process of bringing a recognition pathway to market.
Is RPL the same as completing a study-based course?
The outcome is identical. Whether you achieve the qualification through study or recognition of prior learning, you receive the same nationally recognised Diploma issued by an RTO. RPL simply respects your existing expertise by assessing your evidence rather than requiring you to repeat the learning process.
What depth of experience is expected for a Diploma-level assessment?
A Diploma reflects substantial depth of knowledge and self-directed skill. For this qualification, an assessor will look for evidence that you can interpret complex building codes, apply anthropometric principles, and provide expert advice on large-scale accessible building design.
Will I need to provide actual building audit reports as evidence?
Yes. As this qualification is highly technical, providing copies of audits and reports you have authored is a central part of the evidence-gathering process. These documents demonstrate your ability to apply the mechanics of human body functions and legislation to real-world environments.
