This qualification requires a broad range of skilled applications within the rail safety environment. It also requires the skills and knowledge to evaluate and analyse current practices, to develop new criteria and procedures, and to provide some leadership and guidance to others in their work. This qualification applies to a technically competent or rail experienced person who, while working under a level of supervision, has responsibility for preventative safety management capacity to exercise discretion and judgement using appropriate rail knowledge to provide technical assistance and safety support to rail operation stakeholders.
