About This Qualification

This is a qualification for a person who undertakes a rail safety investigation within the rail industry in accordance with regulations, rail network standards, rules and procedures. This qualification applies to a technically competent or rail operations experienced person who, while working under a level of supervision, has responsibility for investigating safety incidents to exercise discretion and judgement using appropriate rail knowledge to provide technical assistance and safety support to rail operations stakeholders. Job roles: This qualification is aligned to the following defined role: rail safety incident investigator. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
