About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to provide support in a range of legal services environments. These individuals apply solutions to a range of unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is this qualification currently available through RPL it?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to offer the Certificate IV in Legal Services. We recommend registering your interest to be notified immediately when the pathway is open.
Why should I register my interest?
Registering ensures you are placed on our priority list. You will receive updates on the status of our RTO partnerships and be the first to receive guidance on gathering your evidence portfolio.
Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one achieved through classroom study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and is nationally recognised across Australia.
Do I need to provide documents that contain sensitive client information?
No. When providing evidence of your drafting or research, all sensitive or identifying client information must be redacted. The assessor only needs to see the quality and structure of your work, not the confidential details.
What if I have experience in only one area of law?
The Certificate IV in Legal Services covers broad competencies. If your experience is specialised, your consultant will guide you on how your specific evidence aligns with the core units and help identify if any gap training is required.
What does registering my interest mean?
