Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

Is RPL for the Cert IV in Food Processing currently available?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that offer this specific qualification. At this stage, we are inviting candidates to register their interest so we can provide updates as soon as the pathway is active.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering interest allows us to understand the demand for this qualification and prioritise our partnership efforts. It also ensures you are the first to know when we are ready to begin the free skills review process for your food processing experience.
Is RPL the same as completing a training course?
No. While a traditional course teaches you new skills, RPL recognises the skills you have already developed through years of workplace experience. It is a formal assessment process that carries the same weight and results in the same nationally recognised qualification.
What happens if the assessor identifies gaps in my evidence?
If an RTO assessor determines that your evidence does not fully cover the qualification requirements, they will identify specific 'gaps'. Our partner RTOs provide targeted gap training at no additional cost to ensure you can demonstrate competency in those areas.
Who performs the actual assessment of my experience?
The formal assessment is conducted by a qualified assessor from one of our partner Registered Training Organisations. RPL It Australia acts as your guide, helping you compile your evidence portfolio to ensure it is presented clearly and professionally for the assessor's review.
