About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a wide variety of dance performance contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from different sources in relation to dance practices.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is the Cert IV in Dance currently available for RPL?
Not at this moment. We are currently in the research and partnership phase, identifying Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that meet our standards for professional dance recognition.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering your interest allows us to notify you the moment a partnership is finalised. It also helps us gauge industry demand, which can accelerate the development of the RPL pathway for dancers.
Is RPL the same as completing a dance course?
The resulting qualification is identical, but the process is different. RPL assesses the skills you have already developed through professional practice, whereas a course focuses on teaching you those skills from the beginning.
Will I still need to perform an audition?
Entry requirements for this qualification typically involve an audition or evidence of technical competency at an AQF Level 3 or higher. We will guide you on how your professional history can satisfy these requirements.
What if my experience is in a specific dance style?
The Certificate IV in Dance is designed to recognise expertise across a variety of styles. The evidence you provide will be assessed against the national standards for your specific area of technical expertise.
