About This Qualification
This qualification may be used as a pathway for workforce entry into indigenous environmental health work. At this level, work takes place under direct and regular supervision within clearly defined guidelines.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification earned through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and is nationally recognised across Australia.
What kind of environmental health experience is relevant?
Relevant experience includes monitoring water supplies, maintaining sewage systems, rubbish collection, basic plumbing repairs, dog health monitoring, and sharing health information within a community context.
Will I need to complete any training?
If the assessor identifies areas where your existing evidence does not fully meet the qualification standards, gap training may be required. This is targeted specifically to the units you need and builds on your existing knowledge.
