About This Qualification
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform operations support functions in the electrical supply industry. Functions include the operation of non-critical generation plant systems, lubricating generation plant and performing minor maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing and vetting partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for this specific qualification. It is not yet available for immediate enrolment, but we are building the infrastructure to support it soon.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and carries the same national weight and validity as one earned through traditional classroom study.
How do I demonstrate my competency in plant inspections?
Evidence can include completed inspection checklists, reporting logs, and supervisor sign-offs that verify your ability to identify operational irregularities and maintain plant standards.
What constitutes minor maintenance in this context?
