This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in bituminous surfacing in the civil construction industry, performing routine tasks using practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context, working under direct supervision. What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. A qualification achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning is identical to one earned through traditional study. It is issued by a Registered Training Organisation, meets national standards, and carries the same weight with employers and industry bodies.
What kind of experience do I need for this qualification?
