About This Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of tasks on tyres in the automotive retail, service and repair industry. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Why should I register my interest?

Is an RPL qualification the same as one from full-time study?
Yes. Whether achieved through study or recognition of prior learning, the qualification is issued by a Registered Training Organisation and meets the same national Australian Qualifications Framework standards.
Can I be recognised for specific vehicle types?
The qualification allows for specialisations in light, heavy, agricultural, or earthmoving tyres. Your evidence portfolio should reflect the specific vehicle types you have worked with most extensively to demonstrate your competency.
What if I have experience with motorcycle tyres?
Elective units covering motorcycle wheel and tyre assemblies can be included in the assessment process if you have the relevant evidence, allowing the qualification to be tailored to your specific workshop background.
