Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

When will this qualification be available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of mapping this qualification with our RTO partners. By registering your interest, you help us prioritise this code and ensure you are the first to be notified once the assessment pathway is open.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering interest allows us to gauge the demand for police supervision recognition. It also gives you early access to our evidence-gathering guides, helping you prepare your documentation ahead of time.
Is RPL the same as completing a police academy course?
No. While academy courses involve learning new material, RPL assesses the competency you have already developed on the job. It is a process of turning your lived experience into a formal, nationally recognised qualification.
What if some of my evidence is classified or sensitive?
We understand the sensitive nature of police work. Your consultant will guide you on how to provide redacted evidence or third-party verifications that satisfy assessment requirements without compromising security protocols.
Who conducts the final assessment?
Your evidence is reviewed by a qualified assessor from one of our partner Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). They ensure your experience meets the rigorous national standards required for an Advanced Diploma.
