About This Qualification
This is a qualification for those working in materiel logistics management roles, including those working in acquisition and sustainment projects. Materiel logistics is the through life management of materiel to achieve the stated requirements of defence capability managers. It is a multi-disciplinary approach to the planning and management of materiel's logistics elements. It combines the life cycle disciplines of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Supportability Analysis to provide a comprehensive approach to the development of sustainable and supportable mission systems and their support systems. Successful achievement of this qualification requires the self-directed application of knowledge and skills, with substantial depth in some areas where judgement is required in planning and selecting appropriate equipment, services and techniques for self and others. Applications involve participating in developing strategic initiatives as well as personal responsibility and autonomy in performing complex technical operations or organising others. It may include participating in teams, including those concerned with planning and evaluation functions. Group or team coordination may also be involved. This qualification has been designed for people in integrated logistics support management or sustainment management roles. These people will have a breadth of responsibility across a range of functional areas and will generally be responsible for a team. Job roles Job roles and titles vary across different sectors.
