About This Qualification
The qualification applies to individuals seeking the grant of a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence covering the supervision, performance and certification of airframe, engine, electrical and structural maintenance on aircraft that are type-rated by CASA for maintenance purposes.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Why should I register my interest for this qualification?

Is RPL the same as studying for the Diploma?
No. RPL is an assessment process that recognises the skills and knowledge you have already acquired through your work in the hangar. Instead of attending classes to learn new material, you provide evidence of your existing competency to a qualified assessor.
Does this qualification guarantee me a CASA B1 Licence?
The Diploma provides the academic components required for the B1 Licence, but it is not the licence itself. You must still meet CASA's specific experience requirements and pass any required regulatory examinations to be granted a licence.
How do I demonstrate my hand skills for RPL?
Evidence for hand skills typically includes logbooks, supervisor reports, and photographs or videos of your work. The RTO's assessor may also require a practical demonstration or a technical interview to verify your expertise.
