About This Qualification
This qualification applies to people working in the maritime industry operating as Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 Near Coastal. Duties and Functions Duties and functions for which AMSA certificate of competency is required are listed in the MAR Maritime Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide. Licensing/Regulatory Information This qualification is currently cited as meeting some of the requirements for AMSA certification as a Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 Near Coastal as specified in Marine Order 505 (MO505). Certification will require achievement of: MAR40224 Certificate IV in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 Near Coastal),qualifying sea service as specified in MO505,meeting the medical fitness requirements as specified in MO505,having passed the AMSA final assessment as specified in MO505 andholding a current first aid certificate as specified in MO505. Seafarers seeking certification should check with AMSA.
