This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply the skills and knowledge to work in local government. These individuals work with independence, taking responsibility for their own functions and outputs.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) for this specific qualification. While we aren't accepting formal enrolments today, registering your interest ensures you are the first to know when the pathway opens.
Why should I register my interest now?
By registering early, you allow us to gauge the demand for this qualification and prioritise our RTO partnership efforts. It also ensures you receive early access to our skills review process as soon as the qualification becomes available.
Is RPL the same as completing a training course?
The outcome is identical; a nationally recognised qualification. However, the process is different; while a course teaches you new skills, RPL recognises the skills you have already mastered through years of practical experience in the local government sector.
What kind of council experience is most relevant for this RPL?
This qualification is broad, covering everything from compliance and regulatory roles to outdoor works supervision and office administration. If you hold a position of responsibility within a local council, your experience likely aligns with many of the units.
Will I need to complete any study or exams?
If the RTO's assessor determines that your evidence portfolio fully demonstrates competency in every unit, no further study is required. If specific gaps are identified, the RTO will provide targeted gap training to help you bridge those areas at no additional cost.
