Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

When will this qualification be available for RPL?
We are currently in the process of mapping this qualification with our partner Registered Training Organisations. We expect to open for registration shortly and recommend signing up for updates.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering ensures you are prioritised for a free skills review as soon as the pathway is active. It also allows us to keep you informed of any changes to evidence requirements or regulatory standards.
Is RPL the same as completing a training course?
RPL is a formal assessment of the skills you have already mastered through work experience. It results in the same nationally recognised qualification as a traditional course but focuses on evidence of your existing competence.
Do I need to show evidence of providing Tier 2 advice?
Yes, as the core units include providing Tier 2 general and personal advice, the RTO's assessor will look for evidence that you have performed these tasks in a compliant environment.
What happens if my experience doesn't cover all the units?
If the assessor identifies any gaps in your evidence, our RTO partners will provide targeted gap training. This allows you to complete the remaining requirements without needing to repeat the areas where you are already competent.
