Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

Why is the Advanced Diploma of Paraplanning not currently available for enrolment?
We are currently in the process of establishing partnerships with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that specialise in this high-level financial qualification. This ensures that when you do apply, you are guided by assessors who truly understand the technical complexity of your work.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering your interest allows us to notify you the moment a suitable RTO partnership is finalised. It also helps us understand the demand for this specific qualification, allowing us to prioritise the development of the necessary evidence guides for your industry.
Is recognition of prior learning the same as a short course or fast-track study?
No. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills you have already gained through years of experience. It is not a condensed version of a course; it is a rigorous pathway that treats your experience as evidence of competency against national standards.
How does an Advanced Diploma level assessment differ from lower-level certificates?
At the Advanced Diploma level, the assessor looks for evidence of specialist skills, management of complex situations, and accountability for team outcomes. The documentation required is typically more sophisticated, reflecting your ability to apply innovative strategies and navigate high-level regulatory frameworks.
Will I need to provide actual client files as evidence?
You will need to provide evidence of your work, such as Statements of Advice. However, all evidence must be de-identified to protect client privacy and comply with data protection regulations. Your consultant will guide you on how to prepare these documents for the assessor.
What happens if the assessor identifies a gap in my evidence?
If the RTO's assessor identifies an area where your evidence does not fully meet the competency requirements, they will provide feedback. We then work with the RTO to provide targeted gap training to address those specific units, ensuring you can demonstrate the required standard without starting over.
