Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.

You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

While Certificate III focuses on trade-level skills, the Certificate IV is designed for senior florists who manage complex designs, coordinate large events, and often have supervisory or business management responsibilities.
Do I need to be currently managing a shop to qualify?+
Not necessarily. You need to demonstrate that you possess the skills and knowledge required at this level, which includes coordinating work teams and managing complex stock orders, even if your title isn't 'Manager'.

What happens after I register my interest?+
You'll receive a confirmation, and we'll keep your details on file. When a partner RTO is confirmed for this qualification, we'll contact you with the next steps, including how to start your free skills review.
Can I still do a free skills review for this qualification?+
Yes. A free skills review helps you understand whether your experience aligns with the qualification requirements, regardless of whether an RTO partner is currently available. It's a useful first step while you wait.
