Could RPL Be Right for You?

Experience can be evidence.

RPL is the process that helps you demonstrate it.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process that evaluates the skills, knowledge, and experience you've gained through your career to determine whether you meet the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification. It isn't a shortcut — it applies the same assessment standards as any other pathway.

RPL typically involves:

📋

A review of your work experience against the qualification requirements

💼

Compilation of an evidence portfolio demonstrating your competency

👤

Assessment by a qualified assessor from a Registered Training Organisation

🎯

If gaps are identified, targeted training to build on your existing expertise

ℹ️ Important Pathway Advice

RPL isn't the right pathway for everyone. If you don't have substantial, relevant, and current industry experience, a traditional study pathway may serve you better.

Our approach:

“We'd rather guide you to the right pathway than enrol you in the wrong one.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this qualification and RPL.

When will RPL for the Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking be available?
We are currently in the process of vetting RTO partners to ensure they meet our standards for respectful and rigorous recognition. By registering your interest, you will receive an immediate update once the pathway is open for applications.
Why should I register my interest now?
Registering allows us to gauge demand and accelerate the partnership process. It also ensures you are positioned at the front of the queue for a free skills review once our RTO partners are ready to begin assessments.
Is the RPL process the same as completing the course online?
No. While online study teaches you the material, RPL recognises that you already know it. It is a process of gathering evidence of your existing competence, which is then assessed by a qualified professional to ensure it meets national standards.
Does this qualification automatically grant me an Australian Credit Licence (ACL)?
No. This qualification is a mandatory educational requirement for those seeking to become a credit representative or an ACL holder, but the licence itself must be applied for through ASIC.
What happens if my experience doesn't cover all the units?
If the RTO's assessor identifies specific areas where your evidence is not sufficient, you may be offered gap training. This allows you to complete only the specific components you need, rather than repeating the entire qualification.
