About This Qualification
This qualification covers competencies to select, install, commission, fault find and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings and premises and split air conditioning systems to a prescribed routine where the maximum plant capacity for each system does not exceed 18 kilowatt (kW). It includes regulatory requirements for purchasing and handling refrigerants for split systems.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

What are the entry requirements for this qualification?
To be eligible for assessment, you must hold a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or a current Unrestricted Electrician's Licence, along with a Trainee Refrigerant Handling Licence.
Does this qualification cover large-scale commercial refrigeration?
This specific Certificate IV focuses on split air conditioning systems up to 18kW capacity. It does not cover the service or repair of large-scale commercial refrigeration plants or equipment.
