About This Qualification
This qualification allows for the attainment of competencies for Defence personnel engaged in reporting. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
Important: RPL It Australia is a student support service. All assessment and qualification issuance is conducted by the delivering Registered Training Organisation. RPL It does not deliver training, conduct assessments, or issue qualifications.

What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning is a formal assessment process that evaluates skills, knowledge, and experience you have gained through your career against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification.
You gather relevant workplace evidence and a qualified assessor from the delivering Registered Training Organisation evaluates that evidence. If the assessor determines every competency requirement is met, the RTO issues the qualification.

Is RPL the same as completing a course?
Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment-only pathway. It is not a shortcut, but a formal process where a qualified assessor determines if your existing experience meets the national standard, rather than requiring you to study what you already know.
Do I need to be currently serving to apply?
While the qualification is designed for Defence personnel, your evidence can come from prior service or relevant civilian experience that aligns with Defence reporting standards.
What if some of my reporting work is classified?
Assessors require evidence to be verifiable. We can guide you on how to present redacted or declassified evidence that demonstrates your competency without compromising security protocols.
